Baber Afzal

12.09.2022 – 04.11.2022

The series of visuals in this collection has been over 10 years in the making that highlights iconic perspectives of Dubai’s cityscape and how it has evolved over time since 2010. The ever-changing landscape of Dubai has also made it impossible to recapture the same perspectives again due to new skyscrapers that have blocked the original view.

Hence making some of the artworks unique and one-of-a-kind. Permanently immortalizing them on the blockchain as an NFT.

It has been edited in a way to signify Dubai’s architectural marvel and to highlight a transition in time either in the form of long exposures or blending it with the night sky, thus giving a sense of surrealism. A city that was once a desert has been transformed into one of the most iconic destinations on Earth and what better way to showcase it by revisiting ‘The Future Past’. None of this would’ve been possible without the vision of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
