Louis Carreon’s ‘Ryzantine’

Currently Louis is working on his Ryzantine narratives, updating spiritual and religious iconography for the modern world. Creating halos, sacred geometry, and mixing shamans and iconography with modern day street language and corporate culture relics from his own inceptions and his conversations with the Byzantine and Renaissance Masters. His latest major work is 8 ft, 4000 lb. contemporary re-working of Bernini’s David in marble, with David dressed for the modern streets. This piece, is evidence of contemporary religious inspiration and a challenge to museums and galleries to acknowledge that reality.
