In the exhibition, Olivia Babel invented an ecosystem with various abstract gardens full of vibrance and natural colors, presented on walls or in frame. The artist explains her vision of greenery with poetry and delicacy.
Olivia Babel appreciates to mix sophistication and raw. She complains herself and her aesthetic in complexity, duality and creates artworks full of rhytms, details, reliefs and vibrations.
All her textile sculptures are handwoven with rare and precious handweaving techniques (needle point, driadi point…). To create her pieces, Olivia Babel uses traditional French savoir-faire. Her textile sculptures are handwoven on looms, in her atelier in Lyon, France. It takes around 70 hours to create one fiber sculpture.
To handweave the fiber sculptures presented, Olivia Babel used natural wool, natural cotton thread and satin fabrics. The artist makes a point of honor to create pieces with high materials and high-end finishes.
Immerse yourself in the heart of a delicate and vibrante universe.
