Extinguished explores the complexities of society in the present day, with a focus on humanity and the impact the modern society has on individuals and the world as a whole.

The paintings in the exhibition explore various themes such as environmental degradation, social injustice, and the human condition. The exhibition aims to provoke through and encourage conversations about the stat of society and our role in shaping the future.

Taking inspiration from the graffiti artists across the world, repurposed fire extinguishers filled with vibrant acrylic paint are used to create the canvases. The melting and running of the paint also creates a sense of chaos and unpredictability and speak to the idea that the world is not always orderly or predictable. Life can be messy as a fundamental part of the human experience.

Amid the chaos, there is also a glimmer of hope. The explosions of bright colour on the canvases serve as a counterpart to the darker themes being explored. Whilst the artworks confront the viewer with the harsh realities of the modern world, the bright colours create a sense of hope and optimism. The artworks also invites the viewers to consider the complexity and interconnectedness of the world we live in.

The pieces in the exhibition are seemingly displayed upside down, with the drips and runs rising towards the sky in an ethereal manner. This unique approach provides a fresh perspective on the world, with the apparent inversion of gravity encouraging viewers to see things in a new light and to question established norms and conventions. Equally, this sense of weightlessness and freedom in the artwork add to the thoughts of possibility and hope for the future.
