The enchanted characters are presented with a flare and joyful demeanour, with a narrative that is unbound and manipulated, and yet accessible and welcoming to connect with the onlooker. Resourceful images from local nature inspired the artist to impose his own take on them through his signature style, when analysing the work “Hyacinth” for example, the work is representing a popular local flower that grows sporadically in the desert, celebrating life on its own terms. Rabbit, who’s character is predominant in the work of Don, appears regularly alongside other characters as a charm of some sort, and for the first time the artist is bringing the character as a sculpture, and representing it as the centrepiece of the show.

DON started a career in illustration and graphic design, working with various renowned media institutions, it didn’t take long before he discovered himself as an artist and embarked on his journey to become an independent artist. Experimented with various methods and materials, his artistic approach varied between conceptual, abstract and pop art before landing at his current style and practice. He participated in several group and solo exhibitions and was commissioned by Alserkal Avenue, Manarat Al-Saadiyat, BMW. Emaar Foundry amongst others in the region.
